About the Author

Joseph C. Morecraft, III, is a preacher of the gospel and a noted lecturer on contemporary political and historical trends in the United States and the world at large.  In 1986, he was a candidate for the US Congress in the Seventh Congressional District of Georgia.  Born in 1944, he is a native of Madison, West Virginia.

Dr. Morecraft received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from King College in Bristol, Tennessee.  In 1969, he was awarded a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and in 1982, was awarded a Doctor of Theology degree from Whitefield Theological Seminary in Lakeland, Florida.

Dr. Morecraft was ordained by the Presbyterian Church in the United States in 1969.  He is presently an ordained minister in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Hanover Presbytery.  He has pastored churches in Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia.  He is the founding pastor of Chalcedon Presbyterian Church (RPCUS) located near Atlanta, Georgia, where he ministered for over forty years.  He has assisted in the planting of other churches in the Atlanta area, and most recently, has planted a new church for Hanover Presbytery, called Heritage Presbyterian Church.  He frequently preaches and lectures at seminars and conferences around the nation and abroad.

Informed by a lifetime of pastoral insight, theological precision, confessional fiathfulness, and historical incisiveness, Joe Morecraft’s magnum opus is an invaluable treasure.  This is a vital resource every Reformed pastor, Sunday School teacher, and Bible study leader will want to have in their library.
